ALICE DARNELL BINKLEY

Alice Darnell Binkley, beloved wife, mother, grandmother and sister, went to her heavenly reward on January 24, 2026. She was preceded in death by her parents, Raleigh Darnell and Evelyn Shipley Darnell of Big Stone Gap, Virginia and a grandson, Ethan Darnell Binkley of Burlington. She is survived by her husband Steve of the home, daughters, Elizabeth Colyer, Rebecca Binkley, Joanna Beam and her husband Kenneth beam, son-in-law Nathan Dorthy; grandsons, Andrew Binkley and Reese Dorthy and granddaughters, Rachel Colyer and Lillian Colyer. Also surviving is her sister, Nancy Darnell and her husband Stanley Smith and niece, Katherine Smith, all of Colorado.

Alice was devoted to her family. In addition to normal household chores, she sewed clothes, crocheted, canned food, cooked, and taught her children to do the same. She enjoyed hiking, bird watching, and camping with her husband. She was devoted to her church and taught children’s church for many years. Alice will be remembered by all who knew her for her kindness and generosity. She gave to each of us more than we can ever repay.

The family wishes to thank the staff of Compass Healthcare and the Hospice Care Team for their help during his difficult time.

Visitation was held on January 31, 2026 beginning at 1:00pm at Powerline Church of the Nazarene, Manning Avenue, Elon, NC. The service followed at 2:00pm with Pastor Jerry Gardner officiating. Following the service, burial was held at Magnolia Cemetery in Elon.
