BETTY JOE BURDICK

Big Stone Gap, VA – Betty Jo Burdick, 87, passed away on Friday, May 23, 2025, at Heritage Hall Healthcare in Big Stone Gap. Born in the Bonny Blue Community, she lived in Winchester, VA, Radford, VA and Salisbury, NC where her husband pastored churches. She loved working in the yard, flower gardening and landscaping with rocks. She was of the Church of God faith.

She was preceded in death by her parents, William B. and Eva G. (Reece) Parrott; brother, William Wayne Parrott and sister, Janice Carol Hubbard.

Betty is survived by her children, Charles Andrew Burdick of Big Stone Gap, VA and Donald Lee Burdick of Asheville, NC; her siblings, Barbara Ann Polly of Newport News, VA and Rita Jean Hinkley of Big Stone Gap, VA and five grandchildren.

The family would like to give a special thank you to the doctors, nurses and facilities staff of Heritage Hall Healthcare in Big Stone Gap for their excellent care of Betty.

The family received friends on Wednesday, May 28, 2025, from 12:00 noon until 1:30 pm at Gilliam Funeral Home, 618 Wood Ave. W., Big Stone Gap, VA. Funeral services began at 1:30 in the funeral home chapel with Pastor Greg Bowman officiating.

Graveside services followed at Powell Valley Memorial Gardens, 5650 Powell Valley Road, Big Stone Gap, VA. Family members and friends served as pallbearers.
