BARBARA JEAN SHARPE

Barbara Jean Markland Sharpe, 90, died on Friday, January 10th, at Steadman Hill at Asbury Place in Kingsport, TN.  Jean loved the Lord and was a wonderful wife, mother, sister, grand, great grand and great great grandmother, aunt, as well as loving many other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her dad and mom, Claude and Emma Markland; brothers, Donnie Markland and Ronnie Markland.

She is survived by her husband of 73 years, Carroll Sharpe; daughter Cheryl Sizemore; son Eddie Sharpe (Priscilla); one brother, Darrell “Bubby” Markland (Louise); two sisters Jayne Osborne (Johnny) and Janet Harris (Roy); 4 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren; and 3 great-great grandchildren; also several nieces, nephews, and in-laws who loved her very much.

The family will receive friends from noon to 1 pm Saturday, January 18th at the Oak Grove Baptist Church, Big Stone Gap with memorial services following officiated by Rev. Rick Phillips, Ross Kegan and Pastor Mike Sampson. A special thank you to the departments and staff of Steadman Hill who were so loving to Jean and a special thank you to the hospice staff at Gentiva Hospice in Kingsport.
