ROBERT LEE MULLINS

Appalachia, VA – Robert Lee Mullins, 75, entered into rest on Tuesday, November 26, 2024 at his home with his loving family by his side.

He was born in Appalachia, VA on April 2, 1949, a son of the late Rev. Robert Newton Mullins and Pearlie Mae (Williams) Mullins. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sisters, Dorothy Mae Mullins Poff and Virginia Mullins; his papaw, Joe Williams. Robert was a veteran of the US Navy having served in the Vietnam War, he also served in the Virginia Army National Guard. He retired from Westmoreland Coal Company. Robert had attended Holiness Church of God In Jesus Name, Big Stone Gap, VA.

Surviving are his loving wife of 26 years, Barbara Allen Mullins; daughter, Jennifer Lynn Mullins; sons, Shannon Owlsey, Jamison Todd Mullins and wife Kathy, Robert Lee Warburton and wife Brandy, Jessee Bronson Warburton and wife Deanna and Charles Edward Warburton; grandchildren, Brittany Haslem and husband Joseph, Jamison Todd Mullins, II, Lexie Brickey, Grayson Powers, Brooklyn Jo Warburton, Aiden Tyler Warburton; great-grandchildren, Amelia June Haslem, Maxton Todd Mullins and Eliza J. Haslem; sister, Edith Ann King and husband Sam; brothers, Bobby Ray Mullins and wife Brenda, and Lester Eugene Mullins and wife Rene; several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 pm Sunday, December 1, 2024 at Holding Funeral Home of Big Stone Gap, VA.

Military rites will be held at 1:00 pm Monday, December 2, 2024 in the Holding Funeral Home Chapel with Mountain Empire VFW Post 8652 and the Virginia Army National Guard Honors Team providing the honors. Funeral services will follow the military honors with Minister Shane Hubbard and Pastor Roger Barker officiating. Music will be provided by Minister Shane Hubbard.

Interment will be in American Legion Cemetery following the services.

Pallbearers will be Jamison Mullins, Charles Warburton, Grayson Powers, Isaac Crawford, Thomas Crawford, JJ Holbrook, and Carlos Sluss.

Honorary Pallbearers will be Johnny Williams, Buddy Holbrook and Doug Davidson.
