NANCY FAYE BARNETT

Derby, Va.-Nancy Faye Barnett, 79, passed away on Tuesday, October 15, 2024, at Heritage Hall Healthcare in Wise, Va.

She was born and raised in Big Stone Gap, Va., lived for nine years in Richmond, Va. and had lived in Derby since 1972. She worked for 46 years as an LPN, 35 of those years in the OB Dept. of Lonesome Pine Hospital. She enjoyed gambling. She was a member of Robinette Chapel Church in Big Stone Gap.

Nancy was preceded in death by her husband of 40 years, Thomas “Dutch” Barnett; her parents, Mack David “Dave” Stidham and Ona Mae Hill Napier; and a brother, Douglas Carroll Stidham.

Surviving are her daughter, Joy Barnett; son and daughter-in-law, Tom and Glenda Barnett, Jr.; grandchildren, Ashley Nicole Barnett and Thomas Mathew Barnett; siblings, Judy Sizemore (Glen), Marvin Jeter McDonough, Danny Ray McDonough and James Ernest McDonough; and several nieces and nephew.

A graveside service was conducted at 2:00pm on Saturday, October 19, 2024, at American Legion Cemetery with Lowell “Cotton” Gardner officiating. The family and friends met at the cemetery by 1:50pm.
