ADA RUTH AISTROP

Big Stone Gap, VA – Ada Ruth Aistrop, 96, passed away on September 14, 2024 at Lee Health and Rehabilitation. She was a native of Wise county and lived in Ohio for many years. In 1970, she returned to Southwest Virginia, living in Inman, Va. and East Stone Gap, Va. She worked at the former Cumberland Glove Factory and was a member of Thee Church in Appalachia, Va.

Ada was preceded in death by her husband, George Aistrop; an infant child; her parents, William and Hassie (Locke) Hawkins and her siblings.

Ada is survived by several members of extended family.

Family members and friends gathered on Tuesday, September 17, 2024 from 11:00-11:30am at Gilliam Funeral Home, 618 Wood Ave. W., Big Stone Gap, Va. to honor Ada.

Graveside services followed at 12:00 noon at Glencoe Cemetery Mausoleum with Lowell “Cotton” Gardner ministering.
