On Sunday, September 1, 2024, Beulah Collier, 96, met her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.  She passed from this life peacefully at home with her loving family by her side.
     Born in Arno, Va., Beulah lived most of her life in Big Stone Gap, Va. She was an office manager for a coal company and several doctor’s offices in Wise county. She was a member of the Legion Memorial Church in Big Stone Gap, where she proudly led the card ministry for many years, was a member of the choir, and held many other church offices. She loved to crochet, work puzzles, write poetry, and enjoyed any sport, especially tennis. 
      She was preceded in death by her daughter, Rhonda Washburn; her parents, Bill and Florence (Rotenberry) Berry; her siblings, Charlie Berry, Ted Berry, Homer Berry, Marie Blevins and Carrie Greene, and her son-in-law, Allen Thompson.
     Beulah is survived by her daughters, Jackie Maddox (Stork) and Paula Thompson (Joey Payne), both of Big Stone Gap, Va.; her grandchildren, Christy Standifer, Michael Thompson (Samantha), Daniel Maddox (Holly), and Jordan Thompson; her great grandchildren, Tyson Tester, Allison Thompson and Rachel Quillin; her son-in-law, Mike Washburn and several nieces and nephews.  Beulah is also survived by her special friend, Wilma James, who Beulah prayed with daily, and a host of close friends.
     The family received friends on Wednesday, September 4, 2024 from 12:00noon – 2:00pm at Gilliam Funeral Home, 618 Wood Ave W, Big Stone Gap, VA.  Funeral services began at 2:00pm with Rev. Roy Hull, Rev. Sean Bailey and Stork Maddox ministering.
     Graveside services followed at American Legion Cemetery, Big Stone Gap, VA.  Family members and friends served as pallbearers.
