July 9, 1946-April 26, 2024

Conrad Christopher Fecher, 77, passed away at Mountain View Hospital, Las Vegas, NV on April 26, 2024.

On July 9, 1946, in New York City (Manhattan), NY, Chris was born to loving parents, Konrad and Mary Elizabeth Fecher. Two years later he was joined by his sister, Christine. When Chris was two years old, his father died. For his high school, Chris graduated from Brooklyn Tech. After high school, he worked at AT&T to help his mother.

When the Vietnam War occurred, he was drafted and chose the United States Army. He went through OCS and eventually became a Captain. Chris served his country honorably from 1966-1971. He served in Vietnam as a helicopter pilot. He received the Bronze Star, 16 air medals, and the Army Commendation Medal for Valor. For many years, in Las Vegas, Chris was involved with other Vietnam Helicopter Pilots. He enjoyed hosting memorable Christmas parties for them. Chris was proud of his country, and it showed.

On Spring Break of 1971, Billie and Duane Tate went to visit brother, Ted, and his family, stationed at Fort Stewart, GA. While Duane babysat for Ted and Milly’s children, Billie went on a blind date, arranged by Ted, with Chris. This led to another date and a surprise visit from Chris, with Billie’s brother Ted, to Virginia. And the rest is history. Chris and Billie were married on June 10, 1972. This led to a wonderful life as a loving husband and provider. Chris was kind and charming. He liked to play golf and enjoyed cooking meals in his wonderfully equipped kitchen for friends. He loved his Man Cave where many toasts were made with friends. He planted veggies, herbs, and flowers every year. This man loved his wife, their home, family, and friends. He loved God and above all his country.

Chris’s career led Chris and Billie to establish homes all over the country, from Pennsylvania, New York, New Jersey, Washington, D.C., Dallas, Orange (CA), San Diego and Anaheim Hills (CA). As they moved from location to location, they developed many wonderful friendships.

In 1971, Chris went to work for Ross Perot at Electronic Data Systems (EDS). At night he attended and graduated from Elizabethtown College. In 1985, Chris became Vice-President of Ducommen. He had an illustrious career working in the computer industry with Integrated Information Systems, Perot Systems Corporation, Integrated Healthcare Delivery Services, AT&T Company Solutions and Chief Information Officer Global. In 2001, Chris and Billie retired to Las Vegas, NV.

Chris was preceded in death by his parents, Konrad and Mary Elizabeth Fecher.

Chris is survived by his wife of 51 years, Billie Ruth Tate Fecher, his sister, Christine Heaney, nephew Justin Borucki, and two great nieces, Summer and Anabel Borucki, in-laws Shirley Tate Luckett, Wentz Tate, Jr., Milly Tate, Judy Tate Riggs, Duane Tate Akridge (Buz), Michael Tate (Toria) and a host of family and friends.
