DANIEL JACK SCOTT, JR.

Daniel Jack Scott, Jr. (Danny), 67, of Big Stone Gap, VA, passed away at home on Friday, November 10, 2023. He was born on June 12, 1956 to June and Dan Scott in Lee County, VA.

Danny was preceded in death by his parents, June and Dan Scott.

He is survived by his wife of 37 years, Alice; two daughters, Emily Crabtree (Will) of Honaker and Kendrea Hensley (Andrew) of Gate City; one grandson, Asa Crabtree; two sisters, Jan Long (Chris) of Bristol and Angela Turley (Bill) of Jonesville; one brother, Rick Scott of Jonesville as well as many nieces and nephews.

Danny retired from Harris-Tarkett in Johnson City, after working there for 17 years. Some of his favorite activities after his retirement were taking his grandson for rides on his scooter, playing Rook, watching Jeopardy and collecting knives.

A graveside service was held at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, November 13 in the Thompson Settlement Cemetery. Everyone was asked to meet at the funeral home by 12:30 p.m. to go in procession to the cemetery.

Pallbearers were Jackie Hensley, Keith Hensley, Danny Jessee, Bart Long, Andrew Hensley and Jay Bales.
