KIM KINDLE SIMS
A Celebration of Life for Kim Kindle Sims will be held this coming Sunday, August 6th at shelter 3 Warriors Path Park in Kingsport. Per her wishes, the celebration will be a joyful remembrance where loving friends and family can share fond memories and reflect on the bright humor and cheerfulness that Kim shared with the world. The event will include some of her favorite foods and music, an assortment of photographs from her life, and everyone that Kim touched with her infectious enthusiasm is invited to come.
Kim was born on Oct. 28, 1959 to Paul and Lois Kindle, and was the middle child with older brother Paul Jr. and younger brother Jason. A tremendous student athlete in her early life, she was both a star basketball player and valedictorian of her graduating class. Academically, she was a Virginia Tech alumnus, and later obtained her nursing degree where she worked for many years introducing newborns to the world as an obstetrics nurse. She was very proud of her family, and shared many adventures together with husband Bob and son Jonathan.
Those that knew her loved her bright, enthusiastic, and carefree personality. She was always interested in trying new things, having new adventures, and living in the moment. This propelled her to have several hobbies including tennis and other racquet sports, volleyball, horseback riding, cycling, hiking, traveling extensively and more. She loved nature and celebrating, and for that reason requested her remembrance to be outside, cheerful, and not stuffy or gloomy. Also, she was a very devout Christian, and studied and explored scripture in depth.
Kim was discreet about health struggles late in life, but sadly after a long illness, she passed away on July 20th. She is preceded in death by her parents, brothers, and husband Bob. She is survived by her son Jonathan, sister in law Sharon Kindle, nephews Josh and Jacob Kindle and many extended family members and loving friends.
It is with great sadness that we say goodbye, but we find solace in the knowledge that she is at peace, and we find comfort in the memory of the light she shared with us.
