Lillie Stanley Clark Fannon, 96, passed into eternal rest on Saturday, February 18, 2023, at Norton Community Hospital.
She was born in Keokee, VA., the daughter of the late George Washington Stanley and Bonnie Bell “Sampson” Stanley. She was one of 12 children. Lillie was a devoted member of the Appalachia Pentecostal Church. She loved to cook and enjoyed crocheting Afghans.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by first husband Cecil Clark, second husband, Harry Fannon, three brothers, Hop Stanley, Willard Stanley, and Hobert Stanley, eight sisters, Mary Ward, Elizabeth Bledsoe, Dixie Garrison, Grace Stidham, Juanita Blair, Ruby Williams, Olvat Stidham, infant sister Irene Stanley, and daughter Margie Stump.
She is survived by step children, Carol Clark Amos and husband Wallace of Bristol, Norman Clark and wife Sheila of Jonesville, VA., Nancy Fox and Dan of Big Stone Gap, Linda Fannon of Duffield, Jeff Fannon of Jonesborough , special nieces, Brenda Mullins and husband Richard of Exeter, Lois Tveit of Big Stone Gap, Sue Stidham of Big Stone Gap, nephew Willie Stanley of Big Stone Gap, other close relatives and friends.
The visitation was held on Tuesday, February 21, 2023, at Holding Funeral Home in Big Stone Gap, VA from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. The service followed and was conducted in the funeral home’s chapel, Norman Clark officiated. The committal service followed in Powell Valley Memorial Gardens.
Family and friends served as pallbearers.
