PEGGY ANN ORR SMITH DURHAM

Peggy Ann Orr Smith Durham (88) originally of Jonesville, Virginia passed away December 15th after a tough battle with Alzheimers. Peggy retired to St Augustine, Florida where she lived with her late husband, James "Jim" Durham. Peggy is survived by her only daughter, Susan Smith Bechtol and husband, Marty Bechtol. Peggy spent most of her career in elementary and secondary education as a counselor before moving to Big Stone Gap in 1972 as one of the original counselors at MECC.

Peggy and Jim will be entombed in Big Stone Gap at Powell Valley Memorial Gardens; a celebration of their lives will be held at a later date. The family would like to thank Brookdale of St Augustine, Moultrie Creek Rehab and Nursing Facility, The Bailey Center Community Hospice, Joanna Parker, and dear friend Lucy for their dedication to caring for Peggy.
