Two deaths, 32 new cases reported

Wise County reported 32 new COVID-19 cases between Nov. 16 and Tuesday.

According to Virginia Department of Health statistics, the county’s total number of cases since spring 2020 was 13,148 as of yesterday, compared to 13,116 six days earlier.

The county’s total of COVID deaths increased by two, from 213 to 215.
Statewide, the total number of confirmed cases since the pandemic began rose from 1,508,385 Nov. 16 to 1,511,386 Tuesday, an increase of 3,001. The number of “probable” cases in Virginia rose from 627,393 Nov. 16 to 629,257 Tuesday, an increase of 1,864.
During the same period, the number of confirmed deaths increased by 57 to 18,523. The number of probable COVID-19 deaths increased by 13 to 3,800.
