One death, 51 new COVID cases reported

Wise County reported 51 new COVID-19 cases between Nov. 9 and yesterday.

According to Virginia Department of Health statistics, the county’s total number of cases since spring 2020 was 13,116 as of yesterday, compared to 13,065 one week earlier.
The county’s total of COVID deaths increased by one, from 212 to 213.

Statewide, the total number of confirmed cases since the pandemic began rose from 1,504,410 Nov. 9 to 1,508,385 Wednesday, an increase of 3,975. The number of “probable” cases in Virginia rose from 625,096 Nov. 9 to 627,393 yesterday, an increase of 2,297.
During the same period, the number of confirmed deaths increased by 20 to 18,466. The number of probable COVID-19 deaths increased by two to 3,787.
