Town worker recovers from virus

BIG STONE GAP — A town employee who tested positive for COVID-19 has returned to work, Town Manager Steve Lawson told town council Tuesday.

During last week’s council workshop, Lawson alerted council to the worker’s positive status. Two other town employees working along with that individual were contacted by the Virginia Department of Health and were quarantined. Both of those employees have tested negative for the virus.
“The safety precautions implemented seems to have worked, at least in this case,” said Lawson.
