STEVE JOSEPH BOBROSKY SR.

Big Stone Gap, Va.-Steve Joseph Bobrosky, Sr., 96, passed away on Friday, May 29, 2020, at Holston Valley Medical Center.
Born February 23, 1924, he was raised in Calvin, VA. He enlisted in the U. S. Marine Corps in 1942 and was a WWII Veteran. He was well-known by many as the store manager of the Country Boy Market. He also worked for Westmoeland Coal Co. as the manager for Andover Shopping Center and retired as a salvage operations manager.
He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Mary (Wolfinger) Bobrosky, Sr.; brothers, Robert, Johnny, Paul and Joe Bobrosky; sisters, Lena Bobrosky, Mary Alice Bobrosky, Otella Suominem, Wilma Carter, Elizabeth Neil, Katherine Leeper and Sophia Duff; and son-in-law, John L. Johnson, Jr.
Steve is survived by his wife of 73 years, Mary Kate (Matda) Bobrosky; sons, Steve Bobrosky, Jr. (Velma) of East Stone Gap, Va. and Mark Bobrosky (Sarah) of Big Stone Gap; daughters, Donna Ball, Vickie Johnson and Cindy Foley (Brad), all of Big Stone Gap, and Melody Bobrosky, Kingsport, Tn.; brother, Bill Bobrosky (Brenda), Batesville, Ark. and Mac Arthur Bobrosky (Cora), Clinchport, Va.; and sister Betty Hill (Ben), Church Hill, Tn. Steve was blessed with seven grandchildren, Jeff, Eric, John, Jason, Mary, Christy and Pat; eight great grandchildren, Daniel, Shannon, Rachel, Jacob, Mason, Karley, Laura and Arthur; one great-great grandchild, Tristan; many nieces and nephews; and special friends, including, Harold and Colby Reasor, Dale Stidham, William Bush, Dr. Bryan Watson, Christy Swinney, FNP, and Valley Fire Department.
