Barter Encore’s ‘Frosty The Snowman’ comes to life at Lee Theatre on November 15

November 06, 2019

Pennington Gap, VA. The Barter Players Encore Company is bringing “Frosty the Snowman” to life on Friday, Nov. 15 at 7 p.m. at Lee Theatre in Pennington Gap. The classic tale tells the story of a young orphan named Billy who discovers magic in a stolen hat. When he places the hat on a snowman’s head, that snowman comes to life! But can Frosty the Snowman help Billy find his real family in time for Christmas? Join Billy and Frosty as they embark on a New York City adventure filled with thrills and chills, as they discover that the real magic of Christmas is love.

“We’ve made the script even better by making it a musical,” said Katy Brown, Producing Artistic Director of the Barter Theatre, “Dax Dupuy’s music gives such a magical feeling to the whole play—you understand how a snowman could come to life when this music plays.”

“Frosty the Snowman” was adapted for the stage by Catherine Bush, the playwright-in-residence at Barter Theatre in Abingdon, VA. Bush also wrote the lyrics that coincide with New York based songwriter Dax Dupuy’s score for the production.
