Sally Sexton (far right) and friends Susan Barber (far left) and Jeanne Estes lead a group of walkers along Big Stone Gap’s Greenbelt Trail during MEOC’s 46th Annual Walkathon on May 15 to raise money for the Emergency Fuel Fund for the Elderly. The trio is part of the larger group Sal’s Pals, an exercise class that meets in Jonesville and also focuses on a larger mission of helping others. Sal’s Pals, named after founder Sexton, has participated in the Walkathon for more than a decade.
