Six more COVID deaths

Wise County reported 52 new COVID-19 cases between Nov. 22 and yesterday.

According to Virginia Department of Health statistics, the county’s total number of cases since spring 2020 was 13,200 as of yesterday, compared to 13,148 eight days earlier.
The county’s total of COVID deaths increased by six, from 215 to 221.
Statewide, the total number of confirmed cases since the pandemic began rose from 1,511,386 Nov. 22 to 1,516,580 yesterday, an increase of 5,194. The number of “probable” cases in Virginia rose from 629,257 Nov. 22 to 632,932 yesterday, an increase of 3,675.
During the same period, the number of confirmed deaths increased by 68 to 18,591. The number of probable COVID-19 deaths increased by 27 to 3,827.
