Southwest Virginia Museum Historical State Park to feature Chris Rose and Richard Phillips & Friends October 17

POST - Big Stone Gap, VA. The Southwest Virginia Museum Historical State Park and the Friends of the Museum will host an October “Fall Music at the Museum” program on Saturday, Oct. 17, from 4 until 7 p.m. Chris Rose and Richard Phillips & Friends will be featured.

Chris Rose, one of the region’s eminent guitarists and music educators, will be joining the acoustic group of Richard Phillips, Tommy Clements, Bill Smith and Roger Bullock. Richard Phillips and Friends play old time blues, Americana and original music. The group’s latest album, “Imaginary Music” was recorded at Maggard’s Studio, a Grammy Award winning studio located in Big Stone Gap, VA. The album embraces themes ranging from love lost and gained, to fortunes gained and lost. Join Chris along with Richard and friends for an evening of home grown music, fun and entertainment.

The “Fall Music at the Museum” event is free and open to the public. Donations will be accepted and will benefit the Friends of the Museum. Dough & Joe food truck and The Shack food truck will be selling their delicious food for this event.

 Participants are required to social distance between those not in the same household. Face coverings are required if you enter the museum for any reason during your visit. Limited seating is offered, but feel free to bring your own lawn chair. In case of inclement weather the event will be canceled.
