Gap tightens worker trips
July 10, 2020
BIG STONE GAP — The town has asked town employees to restrict non-essential travel during vacation season.
Town Manager Stephen Lawson told town council Tuesday that the request is due to “COVID ramping up again and hot spots during vacation season.”
Employees who travel more than a 150-mile radius from Big Stone Gap have been asked to inform their supervisors. The employee will be monitored for symptoms and have their temperature checked for 14 days. If the employee has symptoms or a positive COVID-19 test, they will be off work for 14 days.
Lawson stated that every incident will be taken on a case-by-case basis.
A healthy Wise County requires great community news.
